Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Monies
For every house that is constructed within the village envelope, the Parish Council receives a small amount of money that may be used within the village to bolster the infrastructure within it.
There are set rules for what this money can be used for, but these allow the levy to be used to fund a very broad range of facilities such as play areas, open spaces, parks and green spaces, cultural and sports facilities, healthcare facilities, and other community safety facilities. Whilst some of these may not be relevant to our village, this flexibility gives local areas the opportunity to choose what infrastructure they need to deliver their relevant plans.
Due to the number of housing developments that have been developed in the village over the last three years, the amount of CIL funding we have received is significant and will increase as the remaining developments are completed. The fund currently sits at around £40,000 and is growing. We have five years in which to spend this funding.
