Parish Lunch
The next Parish Lunch is scheduled to take place at the Gate Inn on Friday 24th June at 12:00noon. If you wish to attend, please contact Janet Webb or Joan Herrington to book your place. You are invited to come along and enjoy a good meal and the fellowship available during the sitting. A small contribution comes to the church building fund each time this event takes place.
Village Hall
70s / 80s Party Night
A 70s /80s party night is scheduled to take place in the village hall on Friday 2nd September from 8:00pm. Fancy dress is optional but advisable. A licensed bar will be available on the night
Tickets are £10.00 each in advance. Get your glad rags out and put the date in your diary!

Sutton and Barnby Moor W.I.
The local branch of the W.I. Sutton and Barnby Moor branch were kept busy as they assisted other groups to staff some events and help entertain the crowds who came to support things over the Jubilee Weekend. Despite inclement weather, most events went ahead and proved to be a great success, with a few of the regular helpers with prior engagements and seasonal ailments taking their toll and thus reducing the numbers of volunteers normally available.
Thanks to the W.I. for filling the breach.
Barnby Moor Classic Car Show
The classic car show that took place in Barnby Moor playing field on the Sunday of the Jubilee Celebration events was called off halfway through the day as torrential rain dampened the spirits of the visitors and the exhibitors. Many exhibitors were enthusiastic about the event and full of good intentions but after hours and days of cleaning and polishing their pride and joy ready for the show, Sunday morning’s weather was a deciding factor with many keeping their exhibits under wrap cosily tucked up in the garage!
Who can blame them? Who can control the weather?
St Bartholomew’s Church
Church Service
Sunday 12th June was Trinity Sunday, and a “Family Service” was held at the local church. The officiant on this occasion was Lay Minister/Reader Joan Herrington. Gospel readings were from Romans 5: 1-5. Intercessions: Janet Webb. Organist: Geoff Webb.
On Sunday 19th June, 1st Sunday of Trinity, the service will be “Worship for all” and will commence at the usual time of 9:30am. Everybody welcome.
Jubilee Flower Festival
The Flower festival, which took place in church during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend, was a great success thanks to the efforts and hard work of many of the supporters who gave their time and energy so freely to help make the event the great success it turned out to be. A special thank you to Shirley Stokes for organising and co-ordinating the proceedings. The event itself raised a grand sum of over £900 towards the building fund, with other small pledges still outstanding, which may bring the total amount raised to £1000. This brings the fund nearer its final goal of having a toilet and kitchen facilities in church.
