District Councillor Surgery

The District Councillor for Sutton Ward, Darrell Pulk, can be contacted by email at darrell.pulk@cllr.bassetlaw.gov.uk or by Mobile on 07778 792 320 at any reasonable time.

Parish Lunches

Now that The Gate Inn is closed, it is unfortunate that the church will not now be able to resume their monthly Parish Lunches. Thanks must go to all who shared and attended these events. The Landlord of the former hostelry has supported the church during his time in the village. Those who attended the lunches are sad to see him go and wish him well in his future ventures.

Speedwatch

The volunteers from the Sutton Community Speed watch team were out and about in the village again this week, checking the speed of vehicles driving in and out and around the village.

Let’s help the volunteers by reducing our speeds and obeying the set limits.

Meet The Neighbours

The neighbours group met again on Monday 20th March in the village hall from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A group of 25 residents and friends made the effort to attend and socialised over afternoon tea whilst catching up on all the latest news and views from in and around the area.

Organiser Lynn Tweed was on hand to welcome friends and neighbours to the session with offers of teas and coffees, accompanied by a variety of cakes to suit most tastes.

The afternoon was a mixed event thanks to parents / guardians who brought along their offspring to join the happy gathering. Hope to see them again soon.

Village Ventures

The New Perspectives Theatre Company (the East Midlands touring theatre company) were the visiting artistes at the Village Hall on the evening of March 17th when they performed the UK premiere production of the award-winning play by Canadian writer and actor Kate Hewlett, The Swearing Jar.

With a cast of four players accompanied by backstage crew, visitors were entertained with over two hours of top class entertainment, all in the confines of their local Village Hall. Thanks to New Perspectives for bringing live theatre to the rural communities.
