POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.

PARISH PLAN UPDATE: At the last meeting held on Tuesday 7th June, guest Jan Pauley gave an update on Sutton village signpost designs and also an update on the plans for a children’s play facility within the village.  If you require further information please contact the parish plan via the webpage.

STRAWBERRY FAYRE: will take place on Sunday 26th June 2011 at “Little Grange” the bungalow at Sutton Grange Farm, situated down the lane past Wetlands.

The event will start at 1:00pm. A slightly different format will be implemented on this occasion in an attempt to bring the community together.  The local church, Sutton village school and the Village Hall committee have joined forces to organise this very popular event, which will hopefully attract a greater number of residents and friends. The main attraction of course is the delicious strawberries with lashings of cream, with other major attractions being the Pimms Bar, selection of games and competitions, stalls including Cakes and preserves, books, cards, chocolate fountain and more will be available during the day.  Please come along and support these great causes.

RACE 4 LIFE: Two local ladies stepped up to the mark at the weekend by participating in this years Race for Life (5km) held at Clumber Park.  Sharon Dyson and Jo Savill took on the challenge and completed the course in well under an hour. Their joint efforts will raise a total in the region of £450.00 for Cancer Research UK, and they would like to thank everyone who sponsored / pledged monies to the cause.

WOMENS INSTITUTE: The next meeting of the WI will be held on Wednesday 15th June at Sutton Village Hall – new members and guests very welcome.
