Following the closure some time ago of the waste disposal site at Daneshill, the only one remaining in the area is at Hallcroft Road, Retford.
Notts County Council has issued a Notice of Temporary Closure on the site to allow Veolia, who run the centre, to refurbish it.
The site will be closed from 8pm on Sunday 4th September 2011 for approximately 12 weeks.
The closest alternative recycling centre is at Worksop, about 10 miles away at the Worksop Household Waste Recycling Centre, Shireoaks Road, Worksop, S80 3HA.
Bassetlaw District Council provides a bulky waste collection service at a cost of £5.20 per item, while A1 Housing operates a similar scheme for their tenants. Call the BDC Environmental Services Team on 01909 534 501 to arrange collection.
