For anyone who could not attend the Parish Council meeting in March 2012, the following extract from the Parish Council Minutes issued on 31 March 2012 may shed some light on progress made.
The Clerk gave an update on the noise nuisance arising from the bird scarer and that the main argument Bassetlaw Environmental Health uses to justify inaction is that the scarer is being used in accordance with NFU guidelines. The Clerk suggested writing a letter to the NFU to seek clarification. The Chair agreed with this, but at this stage it would be for information purposes only, as he had successfully visited the owner of the property and following a positive and productive meeting, had achieved a compromise with the owner, in which it was agreed that there would be a reduction in the number of sirens and bangs in the middle of the day, and that the last activation in the evening would be half an hour earlier than present.
For more information please contact the Clerk.
