
PICKS GENERAL STORE: Villagers can play the National Lottery now that the local shop has a lottery terminal up and running.
Customers are advised that credit and debit cards can also be used at the store, as has been the case for some time. The shop also operate a cash back service.
Kelly J Fitness: Former Zumba classes now modified to Fitness For All may be coming to an end due mainly to lack of support via poor attendances at the events.
The fully qualified fitness instructor will try for one more week to revive numbers, failing this the sessions will have to close. Kelly can be contacted on 07514 098 043.
ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 17th June the service at the local church, will be a “Family Service”. Please come along and bring the family. The service commences at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The local association report the following:
Overnight on Wednesday 6th June a garage at a property on Lound Low Road, Sutton, was entered and two bicycles were taken. One of the cycles was a very expensive model. Police are investigating.
On Sunday 3rd June, after the morning church service, members of the Neighbourhood Watch Team were joined by worshippers and friends to commemorate the planting of a Rowan Tree in the churchyard as part of the Queens Jubilee celebrations. The church had arranged a flower festival to celebrate the event with various groups in the community making a donation towards it.
Local resident Michael Boote representing Neighbourhood Watch made a short speech as he presented the tree to the church. An inscribed plaque was placed nearby the tree detailing the groups involved telling of their involvement in the Jubilee Celebrations.
The next meeting of the local association will take place on Tuesday 26th June at the usual time of 2:30pm.
DISTRICT COUNCILLOR: The new District Councillor for Sutton Ward is Tracy Taylor who was successfully elected in last months elections. Tracy takes over from previous incumbent Liz Yates who has served the village well for the last 9 years.
