SUTTON SPOTLIGHT: Issue number six of the Spotlight hit the streets last week again with very favourable feedback. A well formulated production full of all the latest news and information about village life as a whole, produced, managed and delivered by volunteers from various groups from within the village.

ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: A “Family Service” will take place at the local church on Sunday 15th July. Please come along and bring the family. The service commences at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.

POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: The next committee meeting of the group will take place on Tuesday 31st July at the usual time of 2:30pm.

DISTRICT COUNCILLOR: Tracey Taylor, the new District Councillor for Sutton Ward can be contacted any reasonable time on 01777 816 781 or mobile 07771 629 380.

HEAD TEACHER: Miss Nadine Lacey has been appointed Head Teacher at the local school and will be in post from 1st September 2012. Miss Lacey was formerly Deputy Head at Norbridge Academy, Worksop and will be bringing with her much experience and a host of ideas to enhance the curriculum.

The School Council took part in the Head Teacher recruitment process and pupils are very excited by Miss Lacey’s appointment.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: When the ladies of Sutton and Barnby Moor WI meet on Wednesday 18th July in Sutton Village Hall the speaker will be Jane Brownley who will address the members on the topic “What lies below”. Members old and new always welcome.

SUTTON ART GROUP: The group will meet as usual on Friday mornings and will continue throughout the season. Further details available from Joan Reiter on 01777 702 137 or Margaret Beare on 01777 704 836.

KELLY J FITNESS: Former Zumba classes now modified to fitness for all took place on Monday night at the Village Hall, with a few new members present. A fully qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor put members through their paces and an enjoyable workout was had by all.

More classes next Monday night.

WHEELIE BINS: Residents are reminded that green bins should be put out for collection late on Monday night 16th July or early Tuesday morning.
