Vandals responsible for throwing items from bridges onto the road below could end up causing serious injury.
Officers have taken reports of vehicles travelling on the A57 in Worksop being damaged by something being thrown from the bridges crossing the road.
There have been a number of reports over the years but there appears to have been an increase recently in the frequency of these reports.
Police urged anyone with information to contact them on 101 or pass information anonymously on the Crimestoppers number of 0800 555111.
