MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: A group of about forty people made the effort and attended the Neighbour’s session which took place in the Village Hall on Wednesday 10th December at the later time of 4:30pm.
Patrons were offered mulled wine on arrival to get the festive season off to a good start, and were asked to partake in an excellent buffet provided on their behalf. Soup and bread rolls, sausage rolls, pork pies and pizzas were on offer as well as scones pastries cakes etc. with lashings of hot tea and coffee to wash it all down.
The gathering socialized for the afternoon whilst catching up on all the latest news and views from in and around the village.
Then the band arrived!! Thoresby brass band had agreed to come and play a selection of Christmas Carols. Notices given out and raffle drawn it was time to listen to the band. An excellent performance by the band accompanied on occasions by the members present, who were also in excellent form.
The band played for well over an hour with only a short break, and were really appreciated by the villagers. A good afternoon out for many the festive season continues.
