SUTTON CUM LOUND WELCOME PACK: The Parish Council are producing a village Welcome Pack with a view to issuing it to all village residents and thereafter to new arrivals. The target date for the first edition is 1 January 2016.
The design is based on a wallet with inserts. The main insert will be ‘An Introduction to Sutton cum Lound’ and others have been invited (mid October deadline) from the School, church, pub, shop, Village Hall, annual report from the Chairman of the Parish Council, and all clubs/regular activities in the village such as the April club, Art Group, Burns Night, Flower and Garden Show, Gardening Club, Meet the Neighbours, Neighbourhood Watch, Village Fayre, Coffee & Cakes, and WI.
GARDENING CLUB: When the club meet on Tuesday 6th October in Sutton Village Hall at 7:15pm, Dave Newman of “Sage Gardener” will be the invited speaker. He will address the members on the subject of “Small scale vegetable production”.
FREE QUIZ NIGHT: The free quiz night took place in Sutton Village Hall on Friday 25th September with a crowd in excess of 50 people present.
The event started off with a Music Bingo session which was won by Chris Sulley. In the General Knowledge section Brian and Kathryn Seddon’s accompanied by Sharon Dyson were victorious. The Three Amigos were the winners in the Music Quiz.
A Pie and Pea supper was served during the event by J G Catering.
A questionnaire was available during the night to gauge resident’s feelings with regards to future developments within the village. The same questionnaires have now been delivered to all properties in the village and a prompt return of same would be appreciated. The plan itself does not belong to Parish Council, or Neighbourhood Planning but to the local community who will get the chance to formulate policy for the area for many years to come.
A good social event bringing members of community together whilst planning for their future. Thanks must go to the many helpers and volunteers who helped make the night a success.
GATE INN: The usual Sunday night quiz took place at the Gate Inn but unfortunately not as many teams present on this occasion. With resident question master John Jones in the chair things got off to a jovial start, the questions still as difficult as ever.
