
ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: At the local church on Sunday 22nd November, “Songs of Praise” will take place.
The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
SPONSORSHIP: Will villagers who are prepared to sponsor the Village Hall Seasonal Draw please make their donations of prizes available to Frank Bradley in the village or any hall committee member as soon as possible to allow for completion of paper work.
WANTED!: Do you have any unwanted cuddly toys that require a good home? Then the Village Hall committee are waiting to hear from you!

SUTTON ART GROUP: Sutton Art Group invites one and all to their Annual Exhibition in Sutton cum Lound Village Hall. The doors are open from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday 21st November. Entry is free and you can buy a hot drink and even some art if the mood takes you. If you don’t live in the village don’t worry there is plenty of parking space available and The Gate Inn is only 150 metres down the road where you can enjoy a nice lunch.
We also hope to welcome many Sutton cum Lound residents. Please do support your village activities, and even if you only have 10 minutes to spare pop in and have a look round – it’s worth it.

DANESHILL LAKES: The Friends of Daneshill Lakes will be holding their first Annual General Meeting on Monday 23rd November at the Idle Valley Centre on North Road, Retford. CHRISTMAS MARKET AND COFFEE MORNING: The final coffee morning of 2015 and the Annual Christmas Market will be held together in the Village Hall on Saturday 28th November from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This event will also include the Village hall Seasonal Draw with a first prize of £100 cash plus many other prizes.
Tickets are £1.00 each or £5.00 per book available from committee members or on the day of the event. Everybody welcome.
BURNS NIGHT: The Burns Team held their first meeting to discuss and formulate a programme for this popular forthcoming event. The event itself is scheduled to take place on Saturday 23rd January 2016. and not on the 24th as wrongly stated in last week’s report.
GARDENING CLUB: The last talk of the year for the Gardening Club went off with a bang on 3rd November. Patrick Harding returned by popular demand to talk about The Medicinal Properties of Plants. As expected he entertained the group with his humour and expertise, and attracted the clubs largest attendance with a total of 32 people present on the night.
Watch out for the 2016 programme, noting that the first meeting of the New Year is the annual Pub Quiz at 7:15pm on Tuesday 5th January at The Gate Inn. This is sure to give members the lift they need when all the excitement of Christmas and the New Year has rapidly faded away. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: The group met on Tuesday 10th November at the Gate Inn at the usual time of 1:00pm. The group goes from strength to strength with 45 people attending the gathering.
The quiz was challenging; the raffle (£1 a ticket) was terrific fun as usual. The stuffed chicken breast etc (£5) was great; and the place was buzzing.
The special Christmas gathering on 8th December promises even more! NOTE the start time is 5:00pm, but do get there early. There will be a Christmas Buffet followed by the Harworth Brass Band which starts up around 6:00pm.
