WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: When the ladies of Sutton and Barnby Moor WI met, on Wednesday 20th July, they were treated to a special supper, Chinese Style, but not from the local take-away!
“Chinese Cookery” was the topic on that date and Shan Chen Handley was on hand, talking about and demonstrating the finer points of oriental foods. Members were shown how to prepare and cook various dishes, some secrets were disclosed and genuine methods used.
The ladies had a chance to participate in the preparation, cooking and eating of the excellent cuisine placed before them during the evening, with nobody going home hungry.
This is only one of many topics organised by the group which is attracting more and more members each month.
Please note that there is no official meeting of the group in August but members usually get together for an evening meal, which will be held on Wednesday 17th August. The chosen venue on this occasion is the Chequers Inn at Ranby.
