DICKENSIAN NIGHT: The Dickens Christmas Special held in the Village Hall on Saturday 3rd December was a well-attended event despite the bout of seasonal ailments plus the dreaded Norovirus sweeping the village during the week and ongoing at present.

The event itself, devised and co-ordinated and excellently presented by a very talented local resident Judith Hedley and friends was a very light-hearted interesting and informative presentation which left those in attendance asking for more!

With film clips, video links and accompanied by readings the audience were held spell-bound as they were transported back in time to experience the hardships of the times.

During a short break, refreshments were served and patrons were invited to sample foods from the Victorian era, just to tempt the palate, with more than enough on hand for everyone to try. After the break more facts and figures emerged and those present were invited to join in a question and answer session which brought a very informative evening to a close.

Thanks to the organiser and friends for bringing such talent and information to the rural communities!! Much appreciated.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The Parish Council met a week earlier than normal on Wednesday 7th December. A report will follow in due course.

CAR BOOT AND TABLE TOP SALE: When the Christmas festivities are all over and things start to get back to normal (if ever) the event will start again. A slight change in dates, with the first sale starting earlier in the month, Sunday 8th January 2017 and the next one starting again earlier in the month, Sunday 5th February 2017 may improve attendance rates, and with free parking for buyers and refreshments available at the event it might well be a date for you diary.
