
ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH: On Sunday 30th April an “Easter Egg” hunt will take place at the local church.
The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
ANNUAL PARISH MEETING: The Annual Parish Meeting will take place in the Village Hall on Thursday 27th April at 7:00pm. Various representative will be present on the night including: County / District / Parish Councils who will be pleased to answer any issues or concerns that you may have. The Chair of the Neighbourhood Planning Group will be present to give an update on the latest position and answer any questions. Those in attendance will be able to find out the latest on the test borehole at Barnby Moor which is to evaluate the commercial possibilities of extracting shale gas by fracking! There will also be a display from various community groups in the village that you may wish to join.
Refreshments of wine and cheese will be provided for those attending.
GATE INN: Events at the local hostelry include the ever popular comedy night, scheduled for Friday 28th April, with more than half the tickets for this event already gone. Further details available from the Gate inn on (01777) 709 408.
ANNUAL LITTER PICK: Prior to the opening of the coffee morning on Saturday, the annual litter pick will set off from the village at the earlier time of 10:30am. Interested parties are asked to meet up at the village hall entrance. All volunteer pickers will be supplied with the required equipment and on completion of the pick will be entitled to a free drink and a piece of cake!

VILLAGE HALL COFFEE MORNINGS: The popular coffee mornings held in the hall are set to continue in the near future, but in the short term an alternative meeting has been set up. “Simply mad for tea” (A Mad Hatters Tea Party) has been organised and will take place at the hall on Saturday 29th April, with a later starting time of 11:30am until 1L30pm. This is the chance to join your friends and neighbours for a cup and chatter and try a selection of Teas or Coffee and cake for only £2.00.
Whilst relaxing over your chosen drink, visit the Curiosity Corner and see what is on offer.,You may be surprised!
A new venture – it is hoped villagers will give it their support.
SUTTON GARDENING CLUB: When the club meet on Tuesday 2nd May in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:15pm, Sheila Clarke will be the invited speaker. The talk is entitled “A garden Odyssey” and after the talk the speaker will raffle a silk arrangement she has made during the evening. Members old and new always welcome.
TABLE TOP AND CAR BOOT SALE: Another sale will take place on Sunday 7th May at the Village Hall from 10:00am – 12:00noon (9:00am for sellers). £5.00 per pitch, limited indoor tables

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS: The next meeting of the Neighbours group is scheduled for Wednesday 10th May at the Gate Inn for 12:30pm to dine at 1:00pm approximately.

DEFIBRILLATOR AND CPR COURSE: After the success of the first course the Parish Council have now organised a second course. This is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 3rd May in the Village Hall commencing at 7:00pm.
