ST.BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH
At the local church on Sunday 7th October, “A Harvest Festival Service” will take place.
The service starts at 9:30am and everyone is welcome.
VILLAGE HALL UPDATE
The Village Hall has been awarded a grant in the region of £9,000 to completely refurbish the kitchen, including a replacement floor and new stainless-steel appliances. The grant will also be used to provide new seating. The grant has been obtained from the National Lottery Awards for All Fund.
SUTTON SPOTLIGHT
The local information sheet has been delivered around the village during last week-end and once again was welcomed by the villagers. The magazine is a host of information and is worth keeping by the telephone if you suddenly need to contact a local activity group or a service operating in the village. It is funded by the Parish Council but is edited produced and distributed by volunteers.
SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL
The next Parish Council meeting will take place on Wednesday 10th October in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. Villagers are invited to join them.
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
Will diners please note that the date of the next meeting in Sutton Village Hall is now Wednesday 24th October and not 17th October as previously notified. The starting time and other details remain the same. For further details of the neighbour’s group, or to book a meal please contact organiser Joan Reiter on 01777 818 492.
SUTTON GARDENING CLUB
The group met as scheduled on Tuesday evening, 2nd October, in Barnby Moor Village Hall. A report will follow.
QUIZ NIGHT
The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. 8:00pm start and bar open.

We also have the Sutton Spotlight, which goes out to every house in the village on a quarterly (ish) basis. Space is sometimes limited, so try to get your entry in early.
We’re also lucky to have a village Journalist who collates news and updates for the Retford Times on a weekly basis. Get your copy in on Monday morning for the Thursday issue.
