ST BARTHOLOMEWS’ CHURCH

The service on Sunday 7th July will be “Songs of Praise” and will be held at St. Bartholomew’s at the usual time of 9:15am.

MANS BEST FRIEND

Various reports have been received about dogs running loose in the village. It would appear that some dogs are smarter than their owners and may have found a way out of their properties and onto the streets; others are around because those responsible for them are not up to the job and don’t offer the supervision required. No driver wants to injure someone’s pet, or even worse, swerve to miss a dog and hit a person, especially a child. Owners, please keep a check on your pets, could save a lot of aggro and ill feeling at a later date and may even save a life. The canine friends running loose were observed on Sutton Lane, Station Road, and Portland Place in the village. The dog Warden has been informed and patrols have been stepped up. Are they your dogs?

JAZZ IN THE AFTERNOON

The Village Hall committee have secured the services of Edinburgh based Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer, a jazz saxophonist and piano duo who are gaining rave reviews as they go from concert to concert up and down the country. The duo, that have performed here at the Village Hall before, are top class musicians and have played nationwide, abroad and also appeared at the famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.

Sunday afternoon 7th July in the Village Hall. Don’t miss it!
