CAMERA ACTION
Severn Trent teams were in action on Station Road in the village late on Monday afternoon, when drainage problems were reported on the Northern side of the road. A team was deployed to investigate the problem and a camera unit was used to look for any blockages or obstructions. No blockages or obstructions were discovered but flow was slower than normal. Operatives were recommending a power flush to alleviate the situation.
ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH
The service on Sunday 24th November is the Sunday next before advent and a “Family Service”will take place at the usual time of 9:15am. Later on the same day, a Benefice Memorial Service will take place at 4:00pm and again everyone is welcome.

MOBILE LIBRARY VAN
Please note that the library van will visit the village on Monday 2nd December 2019 stopping at the usual places:

- Portland Place (garages) at 10:55am
GARDENING CLUB
December will see members of the gardening club making a Christmas flower arrangement at their next meeting on Tuesday 3rd December. This will be followed later in the week by the annual Christmas meal. A further top of the range speaker sourced and organized by the gardening club committee, much appreciated by the membership and another very enjoyable evening. PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
Please note: the next meeting of the council will be a week earlier than usual (in order to avoid prior engagements in run the up to the Christmas) and will now take place on Wednesday 4th December at the usual time of 7:00pm.
PARISH LUNCHES
The Parish Lunch for November took place on Tuesday 19th at the Gate Inn at 12:00noon. A report will follow when to hand.
CHURCH SERVICE
A”Sung Eucharist” took place at the local church last Sunday 17th November at the usual time of 9:15am. The Celebrant on this occasion was the Reverend Richard Hanford. Epistle readings were carried out by Janet Webb, with Monica Hockenhull reading from the Gospel. Intercessions: Dylan Boddy – Organist: Geof Webb.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
The meeting of the council took place on Wednesday 13th November in the Village Hall at the usual time of 7:00pm. The meeting started of in a sombre mood as councillors held a period of a minutes silence in memory of fellow councillor and colleague Robert (Bob) Holland who passed away recently.
Chair of the council, Paula Graham welcomed councillors and members of the public to the meeting, which was attended by six councillors, apologies being received for those unable to attend. District Councillor Rob Boeuf and County Councillor Tracy Taylor were in attendance for help and advice if required? Clerk to the Council Nigel Johnson was on hand to note / record the event.
Tracey Taylor (BDC) gave council an update, the LSI scheme had been deferred due to forthcoming General Elections, latest information on flooding and actions taken, worst hit villages in our area with homes and some schools affected.
Rob Boeuf’s update covered matters from District Council meetings and local interest.
Other matters under discussion included Planning, Neighbourhood Plan and Finance. It was reported that the children’s playground equipment was inspected on a weekly basis and inspected annually by Bassetlaw District Council. Dog Fouling seems to be on the increase on the play park area and the situation will be monitored with CCTV footage examined to identify irresponsible dog owners.

POLICE COMMISIONER
On Tuesday 12th November Crime and Police Commissioner PaddyTipping, held a meeting at Barnby Moor village hall at 7:00pm. Unfortunately this meeting was to meet with councillors only, from within the local area and not open to members of the public on this occasion.
QUIZ NIGHT
The quiz continues to take place in the Village Hall every Sunday night, £1.00 entry per person which is paid back as prize money! The bigger the crowd – the bigger the prize! New contestants always welcome. Following the quiz “Play your cards right” – Cash Prize! Can you beat the local teams? Come along and try. 8:00pm start and bar open.
