CHURCH SERVICE
The service at St Bartholomew’s Church on Sunday 8th December was a “Sung Eucharist”. The celebrant on this occasion was the local vicar, the Rev.d Cora Yarrien. Organist: Geof Webb. A few worshippers less on this occasion due to seasonal illnesses taking their toll and prior commitments on the run up to Christmas. The usual notices were given out by the incumbent prior to the service commencing properly. The vicar was pleased and proud to announce the confirmation of local parishioner Ann Fraser who confirmed her faith at Southwell Minster on Sunday 1st December and took her first communion here at St. Bartholomew’s. Congratulations! The service (the second Sunday of advent) was very well received by those present and the Christmas message was made loud and clear. Bible readings were performed on the day by Monica Hockenhull and Lynne Tweed. After the celebrations the gathering were invited to remain for refreshments.

GARDENING CLUB
Members attending the December meeting of the gardening club, held on Tuesday 3rd December were looking forward to making a Christmas flower arrangement when the group met at Barnby Moor village hall. The meeting went ahead as scheduled and the ladies were soon engaged in making a floral arrangement. On completion of same, those involved had made individual attempts and all to a very high standard, and should be proud of their efforts on the night. Well done all!
