The local Neighbourhood Watch Association report the following incident:
ALERT: 14th February 2020. A burglary has taken place on Station Road at a property close to the junction with Town Street/Sutton Lane. The owner has been away from the property this week, leaving 05.30 Monday morning (10th February) returning 17.30 this Friday evening (14th February). A neighbour reports hearing a loud noise last night and the method of entry would have created such a noise. It is therefore suspected that the break in took place last night. Access was made from the rear of the property likely across the open fields. Would you please check your CCTV cameras especially those facing towards the rear of the even numbered properties on Station Road. Also please think back, recalling any other unusual activity in and around Station Road and indeed the wider village especially on Thursday night. Should you have information that might help the police please contact them on 101 and quote the Crime Number 20000087808.

Then, of course, the usual raffle took place for fabulous prizes!
On Sunday 16th February, the second Sunday before lent, a “Family Service” took place at the local church. Numbers in attendance were a bit depleted on this occasion, mainly due to seasonal ailments and viral infections doing the rounds! The service was conducted by Lay Reader Joan Herrington, ably assisted by Worship Leader Janet Webb. Due to illness, resident organist Geof Webb was unavailable to play at this service, but Janet Webb filled the gap and the congregation were accompanied by recorded music directed by Janet. Bible readings were performed by local parishioner Rosie Woodgate (Mathew 6. V 25 onwards).
