Residents will have no doubt noticed the odd planter or two around the village as they come and go. But we now have over 12 dotted about, as well as troughs on the village entries. They each need a caring individual to keep them looking splendid throughout the year.
It’s now at that time of year when the various planters and troughs need a refresh after winter. The Parish Council has provided a generous increase for compost and plants; £28.00 for each planter and £22.00 for each trough.
Our volunteer Planter Coordinator, Margaret Boreham, is now managing a number of them herself, but needs more volunteers to adopt one. Compost is ready for collection or delivery, together with the monies for plant purchases.
On a slightly different tangent, the Jubilee Committee have requested a “show of colour” for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee (June 3rd, 4th and 5th), if possible. So, this is our chance to show the village what we can do.
If you feel you can spare a few hours each month to make the village look stunning by caring for a planter or trough, then please contact Margaret using the form below for more information.
