More Plans for The Gate Inn
According to information received, it would appear that further planning has been submitted regarding the local hostelry in the village, the Gate Inn. It appears this is once again causing a degree of consternation within the village, with many local residents already planning their objections.
A table-top sale in support of Macmillan Cancer charity will take place on Saturday 29th October in Sutton cum Lound Village Hall from 10:3oam until 12:30pm. Tables available at £5.00 each. Further details from Cathy J Brooks on 07825 737 475. Large variety of goods for sale, with refreshments available.
A worthwhile cause, so please support it where possible.

This vacancy arises due to the resignation of former post holder Denise Deplege who resigns due to health and personal reason.
Sutton and Barnby Moor W.I.
When the ladies of the local W. I. met on Wednesday 19th October in Sutton Village Hall at the earlier time of 2:15pm, it was the first meeting of the winter session, beginning at 2:15pm instead of the usual evening meeting times of 7:15pm. Darker nights playing a big part, with many members preferring to stick with home comforts as winter approaches.
A reasonable turn-out for the first meeting of the new timetable, and on completion of the official business, the group then indulged in a variety of games available for the afternoon. Members socialised for the remainder of the session and went home happy and content after an enjoyable afternoon with friends and colleagues. More next month.

St Bartholomew’s Church
Lay Minister / reader Joan Herrington was the officiant at the local church last Sunday, 23rd October, when the Harvest Festival service took place at the usual time of 9:30am. Worship Leader on this occasion was Janet Webb.
Please note there is no service at St. Bartholomew’s on Sunday 30th October, but a Benefice Service will be held at All Saints at Eaton and Gamston at 9:15am, when “Holy Communion” will take place.
Donations received for the harvest festival by the church are destined for the Bassetlaw food bank!
Thanks to those who donated or helped in any way.
Toilet and Kitchen Update
The church is moving ever closer to raising the money needed for the installation of a toilet and kitchen to make the building more useful and inclusive for community events. So far, because of people’s generosity, £45,000 has been raised towards the target. Further fundraising activities are being planned as well as the church seeking funding from grants.
A special Just Giving site has been set up for anyone wishing to make a personal donation towards the project. Every penny counts and the church appreciates all donations large or small. If you would like to donate you can either click on the link below, or make a donation by cheque posting it to us, or handing it to one of the Churchwardens.
