Meet The Neighbours

The neighbours group met as arranged and publicised on Monday 6th February 2023 in the Village Hall from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

This community event, despite being completely free of charge, was poorly attended despite all the efforts and hard work by the Village Hall committee. The committee has worked hard in securing funds for this to be completely free of charge for all to enjoy.   This started on Monday 6th February and on the first and third Monday of the month between 1:00pm and 3:00pm in the Village Hall. The village hall committee have worked closely to allow Meet the Neighbours set up to continue as it did before, but with a new format. The organisers don’t give up easily and are happy to continue running the event and would hope the village would offer a bit more support in weeks and months to come.

The event itself was well organized on the day, with a warm welcome to those who made the effort to attend. Teas, Coffees, and lovely cakes were on offer, with jam and cream to accompany the freshly made scones. Friends met their neighbours for the first time in many days or weeks, and one or two new residents to the village called in and introduced themselves to those present. A nice gesture and much appreciated; nice to put a name to a face when seen and met in the village in future. This being the idea of the community set up, especially as we are mostly all members of the same community!

Hope to see more residents and friends at the next event scheduled for Monday 20th February, in the Village Hall at the regular time of 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Please call in – kettle’s on!
