All being well, it is hoped that the Village Hall will be open on that occasion so you can sit inside and enjoy your meal in comfort with family and friends. Lunches for Locals
As previously announced, a new group of volunteers were launching a new version of “Meet the Neighbours” under their own banner of Lunches for Locals, with the first get-together scheduled for Thursday 21st. March in the Village Hall at 1:00pm. Licensed bar open from 12:45pm.
The first menu on offer was homemade chicken and leek pie with roast potatoes and locally produced vegetables, dessert was as stated, lemon drizzle with cream. All this for only £10.00 per person.
What a brilliant afternoon it turned out to be! The group had obviously done their homework, and it showed, with a group of forty diners in attendance. Each and every one was welcomed to the event proper by the organisers and continued to mingle with friends and neighbours and visitors alike as they eagerly awaited the menu of the day! No disappointments on this occasion and the portions were on the large side to say the least. The sweet soon followed the mains and again was well received.
During a brief interval, teas and coffees were served, and the raffle was drawn, and various notices were given out! A very enjoyable afternoon with most looking forward to the next time they can meet, and passing a vote of thanks to all concerned, with yet another great success on village activities.
