HIVE Consultation (round 2)
HIVE have now submitted a revised planning application for the extraction, processing and export of pulverised fuel ash from the former ash disposal lagoons and a second round of consultation is now open for comment. Comments should be made direct to Notts County Council by the 7th March using the following link HERE
Gardening Club
The next meeting of the Gardening Club is scheduled for 7:00pm on Thursday 7th March 2024 at Sutton Village Hall. This will be the groups’ A.G.M. and will include a plant sale. Refreshments and nibbles will be available.

Pizza Night
Wallace & Dough will be bringing their Wood Fired Pizza van to the Village Hall on Friday 8th March 2024 from 5:15pm to 7:15pm. The Village Hall will be open from 5:00pm so you can sit and enjoy your meal in comfort with family and friends. Our licensed bar will also be open if you wish to enjoy a drink with your meal.
Look out for other mobile caterers visiting the village.
Quiz Night
The next quiz night will hopefully take place at the Village Hall on Sunday 10th March 2024. Doors open 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start.
Lunches for Locals
A group of new volunteers are re-launching Meet the Neighbours. The new group will be known as Lunches for Locals and the first get-together will be in the Village Hall on Thursday 21 March 2024 at 1:00pm. A licensed bar will be open from 12:45pm. The first menu on offer will be homemade chicken and leek pie with roast potatoes and locally produced vegetables, dessert will be lemon drizzle with cream. All this for only £10.00 per person.
Why not come along and meet friends old and new in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. For anyone new to the village, this is a great way to meet your neighbours and find out all that goes on in and around the village.

A significant number of villagers and friends have already booked, and the event is gathering momentum.
Remember, numbers are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment!
Litter Pick
As part of Bassetlaw District Council’s Spring Clean 2024 event, the Parish Council are once again organising a Community Litter Pick to take place on Saturday 23rd March 2024 from 10:00am.
As in previous years all the necessary equipment, gloves, litter pickers, high visibility vests and rubbish bags, will be provided on the day.
Following the litter pick, Bassetlaw District Council will collect all the bagged rubbish and any other items that we may come across.
Anyone wishing to take part in this event can register their interest by calling (01777) 854 445 and leaving their name and contact details.
Everyone who joins in will receive complimentary refreshments in the Village Hall at the end of the event.
If you want to help make your local area a nicer place to live, then why not do your bit by joining in.
Sutton Art group
The local art group meet every Friday morning in the village hall throughout the year from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

Church Services
The service at the local church on Sunday 3rd March was a “Family Service”. The service commenced at 9:30am. Worship leaders on this occasion were Janet Webb and Dylan Boddy. Reading from the Gospel: John 2 13 – 22. Intercessions: Janet Webb: Organist Geoff Webb.
The service for Sunday 10th March 2024 is a Mothering Sunday Service and commences at the usual time of 9:30am. Everyone welcome, please come and join us.
