Forever Notts: Community Foundation for Nottinghamshire

Sutton Meadow

Forever Notts, The Community Foundation for Nottinghamshire, is a local charity, who was given the ownership of Sutton Meadow in Sutton Cum Lound as part of a local legacy trust in 2016. The donor wanted the charity to safeguard the field from development and help ensure that it is of benefit to the community as an open green space in perpetuity.

The Sutton Meadow is one of two fields in the Forget me Not legacy trust that the charity owns where the legal agreement states that “The land is now called Sutton Meadow and was gifted to the Trust to create an enhanced green space for the visual enjoyment and spiritual refreshment of the village residents”

As many residents know, several years ago Sutton Meadow was open for community use for most of the week, and we apologise that this has not been the case more recently.

As a small charity who delivers over 50 agreements on behalf of local donors, we are reliant on community good will to maintain this legacy, both in terms of Sutton Meadow gate opening/closing and horticultural maintenance.

We appreciate there has been some confusion around the facts here, and seeing the field currently shut is frustrating for residents. So please bear with us as we seek a workable solution for all parties concerned and rest assured, we will open the field as soon as we can.

Should anyone have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to email me on Nina@forevernotts.com
