On Saturday 3rd December at 5:00pm, there will be a small celebration to mark the switching on of the Christmas tree lights on the Old Village Green on Sutton Lane. The village’s school children are going to be there to help the event with extracts from the schools presentation.

The tree has been presented to the village by the Parish Council in dedication to Mr Peter Roberts, the former Parish Clerk. Peter served as Clerk to the Council for 16 years, and one of his last projects for the village was to organise the permanent power supply to our central green. This was to enable the village to have its first ever illuminated Christmas Tree. Sadly, he never saw the lights go on, passing away in December 2010.

The Parish Council are also to fund a memorial plaque alongside the Christmas tree in his memory.

All are welcome to attend the switch on, which will be conducted by Mrs Pat Roberts.
