
VILLAGE HALL UPDATE: Residents and local user groups may well be aware that the next phase of the hall refurbishment works is about to begin. After the completion of the main hall rewiring, central heating, windows and final paintwork – it is now time to move on to the desperate refurbishment of the toilet areas. This work is due to begin in the next week, and as ever we ask for our users to be supportive whilst the work is being undertaken and hope that any disruptions will be minimal.
POSTAL SERVICES: The Post Office in the Village Hall will be available as usual on two occasions each week. On Mondays: 9:30am – 1:30pm and on Thursdays 9:00am – 1:00pm. The local office can supply residents with: Pensions, Foreign Currency, Travel Insurance, Car Insurance, Investments and Savings.
BARK (Babworth Animal Rescue Kennels) will be holding a nearly new sale at Sutton village hall on Sunday 23rd September from 10:00am. Please come along and support this worthy local cause and grab a bargain.

STATION ROAD RESURFACING: Residents are reminded that Station Road from the junction of Barnby Moor through to the junction with Town street is due to be resurfaced week commencing Monday 1st October and is due for completion on Sunday 7th October 18:30 hours. VILLAGE VENTURES: Village Ventures presents The Virginia Monologues at Sutton village hall on Friday 12th October 2012. The story goes that when an agony aunt reaches 60, she can lie like a trooper, jump off a bridge or take to the stage, making the sixties the best and funniest times of your life.

SUTTON EXERCISE GROUP: (former Zumba group): This group meets on Mondays at 7:00pm at the Village Hall under the careful instruction of Kelly. There are many aspects of keep fit and the group are currently enjoying a mix of Zumba, Boxercise, Circuit Training and Floor work / stretching exercises. Kelly is happy to put together a programme to suit all needs, so pop along and join us. Entry is £5.00 (18’s and over only please).
COFFEE MORNING: The next village coffee morning takes place on Saturday 29th September at 10:30am. This event is kindly arranged by Kathryn and Brian Seddons. An admission fee of just £2.00 covers Coffee, Cake and Instant win raffle. Come along and find out what’s in store over the coming months.

SUTTON FLOWER AND PRODUCE SHOW: Plans are underway for the Sutton show to be held at the church of St Bartholomew on Saturday 6th October. Any enquiries to be directed to David Mowthorpe, or email gardeningclub@suttoncumlound.net.
PARISH COUNCIL: The Parish Council meeting held at Sutton village Hall on Wednesday 12th September covered current topics of Possibility / Location of a Village flagpole, the placement of new benches that have been designed by the Children of Sutton Primary School, Playpark maintenance and winter preparations.
Draft minutes will be available on the website soon. Residents of Sutton are welcome to attend any future meetings, held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
