If you are planning to go on holiday in your caravan or mobile home this summer make sure thieves do not ruin your plans.

Protect your property by making sure the windows and doors are kept secure and anti-theft devices are in use.

Roy Samuel, Local Intelligence Officer at Mansfield, said: “We recommend you use tow ball locks, wheel clamps and a tracker device. If possible also connect your caravan to a fixed object with a reinforced chain. A combination of the devices will provide an even bigger deterrent for would-be thieves.

“Caravans are worth thousands of pounds so spending a few pounds on security is really value for money.”

If anyone has information relating to the theft of caravans or has seen anything suspicious they are urged to ring the police on 101 or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number of 0800 555 111.
